BDAFA is a non-profit organisation and through giving all people the chance to play football it contributes to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local Bankstown community. The association caters for the football needs of both males and females. Age groups range from Under 6’s to All Age and Premier League. In 2011 over 6000 officially participated in the world game thus making football one of the top sports in the Bankstown area when it comes to participants.
The Association is responsible for the overall management and promotion of football in the Bankstown district. This involves corporate management, providing assistance and advice to the Councils' Standing Committees and Clubs, and most importantly in creating a pathway for talented locals to be given the opportunity of achieving their chosen goals in the sport.
BDAFA provides district-wide programs for the development of players, coaches and referees. These include Bankstown Berries holiday clinic programs for Under 6's - 13's, Chullora wolves’ eye mac camp for players aged 8-18 years and various other Academy programs. BDAFA teams also compete in the Skills Acquisition League (SAL), the NSW State titles as well as the Waratah Cup and at other FNSW events such as State Robertson and Bill Cullinan Cups.
